Tamarind: Homage to Lithography by: Preface: Lieberman, William S. Introduction: Allen, Virginia

Hardcover. NY, The Museum of Modern Art, 1st, 1969, Book: Good, Dust Jacket: Poor, 64 pages, hardcover. Cream dust jacket is in poor condition, with age-related staining, a few closed tears, sticker residue, and one significant cut to the front center. Cloth covers are in generally good condition, with minor discoloration and one small area in the front where the cut went cleanly through the dust jacket. Binding is solid. Contains B&W and full-color illustrations throughout. The Tamarind Lithography Workshop almost single-handedly revived the medium of lithography in the 1960s. It provided not only the materials but also the environment that fostered the delicate collaboration between artist and printer, almost nonexistent in the US before Tamarind opened its doors in 1960. This volume contains a description of the workshop, a brief history of lithography in Europe and the US, and a list that catalogs some of the Tamarind impressions gifted to MoMA. Clean copy.
