Stokes has acquired an almost mythical reputation as one of the finest and most discriminating writers on art. This book deals only with Stokes' critical writing, and with what is necessary to understand it. Contains some of the previous owner's light pencil markings throughout, but they do not interfere with the legibility of any text blocks. Record # 34478
