Top edge gilt. A blackout mark is present under Washington at the bottom of the title page. Pages 51 and 61 have closed tears which do not affect the legibility of any text blocks. Binding is solid. Contains B&W photography throughout. This book is one of the first histories of Washington, D.C. to show careful preparation. It is largely biographical, containing many incidents of interest which might otherwise have been lost.
