When Will an Order Ship?
When Can I Expect My Order To Be Delivered?
Shipping Options:
We use the U.S. Post Office for most shipping.
The average book cost for Domestic Addresses:
Media mail: 1st book $5.00. $1 each additional book
Flat Rate Priority: 1st book $8.00. Additional books by arrangement.
Express mail by special arrangement.
If requested we will also ship Fed-Ex or UPS. Contact us for a quote. We encourage anyone who has an account with either to use their account.
Books purchased Sunday through Friday are usually shipped the next day. Books purchased on Saturdays ship the following Monday.
Post Office Boxes:
If the ship to address includes a P.O. Box number, your order will be carried by the United States Postal Service. We do not Overnight or Next Day Air to a P.O. Box number.
U.S. Territories and Islands
Monroe Street Books ships to all United States Territories including Puerto Rico, Guam and the Pacific Islands, Hawaii, Alaska and Military Bases. Your order will be carried by the United States Postal Service unless alternative arrangements are made.
International Shipping:
When possible, we use Flat Rate Global Priority through the United States Post office. The average book costs $29.00 to ship (this covers most standard/small size books for 1st class) additional postage required for larger books, multiples - we would adjust amount and contact customer. Tracking is generally available now with international - (reliability of a few countries varies). If the order does not fit the packaging, or if it requires special handling, we will quote you and will NOT ship until we receive approval for the cost.
Tracking Your Package
We use delivery confirmation and insurance for tracking purposes.
Although we usually ship within 24 hours, we may take up to 3 days to process an order.
When Can I Expect My Order To Be Delivered?
USPS media mail is usually delivered in 7-14 days. But the Post Office allows itself up to 30 days for delivery of media mail.
Priority mail usually takes 3-6 days. Although the Post Office does not guarantee it, we have found 3-6 days a reliable estimate.
Global Priority usually takes 10-28 days. (There may be delays due to customs, but a very good time estimate overall.) Tracking is not available for this service.
