B&W illustrations throughout, including a beautiful frontispiece of Augustus Saint-Gaudens in each volume, a photo in volume 1 and an illustration in volume 2. This edition contains 2 different text fonts, one of which indicates biographical, and the other autobiographical writings. This is a scarcely available set on the life and works of Augustus Saint-Gaudens (1848-1907), an American Beaux-Arts sculptor who is best known for his statues commemorating Abraham Lincoln and Union officers of the Civil War, including Robert Gould Shaw, William Tecumseh Sherman, and John Logan. These volumes were edited by his only child, Homer (1880-1953), an artist and museum administrator in his own right. These two larger volumes are available for DOMESTIC SHIPPING ONLY.
